Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A desacylpepsidin derivative of formula I (R is carboxypropanoyl, 2-carboxybenzoyl or nicotinoyl).
EXAMPLE: N-3-Carboxypropanoyl-desacylpepsidin.
USE: Useful for the prevention and remedy of various diseases due to hypersecretion of pepsin, e.g. peptic ulcer or hypertension, having a powerful antipepsin, inhibitory action on acidic protease and antirenin action, and very stable under physiological conditions.
PROCESS: Desacylpepsidin of formula II is reacted with an organic carboxylic acid, e.g. succinc or phthalic acid, or a reactive derivative thereof, e.g. acid anhydride, to give the compound of formula I.
