Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:The titled compound of formula I.
USE: A drug substance usefuel for the prevention and remedy of various diseases caused by hypersecretion of pepsin, e.g. peptic ulcer, having a powerful antipepsin activity without antirenin activity.
PROCESS: Valyl-4-amino-3-hydroxyl-6-methyl-heptanoyl-alanine of formula II is reacted with an N-protected leucine ester to remove the protecting group of the N atom. The resultant leucyl-valyl-4-amino-3-hydroxy-6-methyl-heptanoyl-alanine is then reacted with a benzyloxycarbonylleucine ester to give the compound of formula I. The starting material compound of formula II is a novel substance and obtained by treating a desacylvalylpepsidin with a strongly acidic ion exchange resin.
