Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the braking performance by a method wherein the speed of driving wheels of an automobile is detected and when a speed difference between the both wheels exceeds a preset value, a braking oil pressure is controlled in accordance with the value of the speed difference.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of wheel speed sensors 5 and 6 are provided on a wheel driving axle for detecting the speed of the wheels 3 and 4 on both sides. The detection results are inputted into a control unit 7, which calculates to obtain a speed difference between the wheels 3 and 4. When the speed difference exceeds the preset value, the control unit 7 outputs a signal representing the speed difference between the both wheels 3 and 4 to an actuator 8. In response to the output signal, the actuator 8 supplies a braking oil pressure to the both wheels 3 and 4 by an appropriate amount. Thus, the both wheels are controlled not to produce an excessive speed difference. This results in an improvement in the braking controllability.
