Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a metal-plated body enabling the elimination of a buffing process by short-time treatment with high production efficiency by forming a primer coat layer on the surface of a metal, applying a soln. of a resin contg. unsatd. groups to the layer, irradiating the applied soln. with active energy to solidify it, and carrying out heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:A primer coat layer is formed on the surface of a metal by applying a mixture of a pigment and a soln. of a resin contg. >=1 unsatd. groups in each molecule, i.e., a mixed composition consisting of a polymerizing polymer or oligomer, an org. solvent and other additives such as a photosensitizer. The resin soln. is further applied to the primer coat layer and irradiated with active energy such as ionized radiation or electromagnetic waves to form a base coat layer by solidification. This base coat layer is then heat-treated, and on the surface of the layer a metal plated layer is formed by a vacuum depositing method or a sputtering method. By the heat treatment, the heat resistance of the plated layer is enhanced, and the occurrence of a multicolored rainbow pattern, creases, etc. is prevented.
