Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the heat dissipation of a molded coil and to enable the reduction in the weight of the coil by so mounting and integrally forming a metallic plate on which a plurality of heat pipes are intimately mounted over the entire inner or outer surface of the coil in the manner as to creep through an insulator thereon. CONSTITUTION:Several heat pipes 3 are intimately mounted via washers 4 at the one ends on the outer surface of a metallic plate 2 having approximately equal shape to the developed shape of the overall out side of a coil as an exmaple on the shaft of the coil 1, and the plate 2 is crept approximately over one outer periphery of the coil 1 through an insulator 5. A slight gap is formed between the ends 6 and 6 of the plates 2 so that the peripheral ends 6 of the plates 2 may not electrically contact with each other. Epoxy resin 7 containing filler is filled and cured together with the coil 1 in the state that the heat pipes 3 are projected into the air at the other end sides. Thus, the metallic plates serve to collect the heat generated from the entire coil and to transmit it to the heat pipes, thereby improving the heat dissipation and reducing the size and weight of the coil.
