Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the captioned head with improved fatigue strength by forming a screw head of a specific material, then hardening the entier head and annealing the conic part and the crew part separately. CONSTITUTION:A screw head 4 is formed with either of alloy tool steel, high- speed steel, stainless steel and malaging steel. Next, this screw head 4 is once hardened and then the temperature of the conic part 4a of the screw head 4 is lower- ed (e.g., 200-400 deg.C). While the temperature of the screw part 4b is increased (e.g., 580-700 deg.C) and annealed. In addition, the screw part 4b is nitrized. Thus the screw head 4 of an injection molding machine is obtained. The conic part 4a will have high wear resistance and corrosion resistance. At the same time, the screw part 4b will have improved fatigue strength.
