Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce leaking steam between each stages by a method wherein a thin metallic round bag is provided annularly and a pressure hole lis provided at the inlet side of a stator, in the structure of the seal fin between the respective stages of a steam turbine. CONSTITUTION:The thin metallic round bag 8 is provided at the part of an appendage ring 6 for a diaphragm 1 while the pressure hole 9 is provided at the inlet side of an outer ring. During a normal operation, a steam pressure in each stage is risen and the pressure P of the steam through the pressure hole 9 is risen, therefore, the thin metallic round bag 8 is pressurized and inflated thereby reducing a gap g1 between the seal fin 7 and the cover 5 of the dmoving blade. Thus, the leaking steam at each stage may be reduced and the thermal efficiency of each stage may be improved.
