Abstract
PURPOSE: To uniformly perform cooling of the entire part of the diaphragm and prevent deformation of the diaphragm by providing annular cavities, in the vicinity of a working steam passage part between the outer race and the inner race of the diaphragm of a steam turbine to introduce thereinto a diaphragm cooling steam.
CONSTITUTION: In the case of applying the subject device to the middle pressure initial stage of the steam turbine, first and second cavities 17 and 18 formed into an annular shape making the center of the diaphragm 4 the center of the radius, are provided in the outer wheel 5 and the inner wheel 6. The first cavity 17 is provided at a position in the vicinity of the ouside of a stationary vane 7 and the second cavity 18 at a position in the vicinity of the inner side of the stationary vane 7. Cooling steam 104 is introduced into the first cavity 17 from an inlet pipe 19 branched at the outer part from the lead pipe 13 of a rotor cooling steam 101. The second cavity 18 communicates with the first cavity 17 by way of a passage 20 formed in the stationary vane 7 to introduce the cooling steam 104 supplied through the passage 20 to the cavity 17 and carry out the cooling of the diaphragm 4.
