Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate the misalignment of the axial centers of a bearing and a pulley body and obtain the pulley of high accuracy free from center runout by improving the fixing process of the bearing fitted into the recess of a preform.
CONSTITUTION: A bearing B is fitted into the recess (c) of a preform A made by forming steel plate having undergone corrosion preventive treatment and piercing a shaft thereto, and the perform A is loaded between upper and lower rotary dies 1, 2. The locating shaft 1b projected to the central part of the bottom surface of the circular recessed part 1a in the central part of the top surface of the die 1 is passed through the shaft hole B1 of the bearing B, and the recess (c) part is fitted and held in the recessed part 1a. On the other hand, the shaft 1b is fitted into the shaft hole 2a in the central part of the under surface of the die 2, and the outer race of the bearing B is pressed by the projecting line 2b of the outside circumference of the hole 2. While the dies 1, 2 are being rotated, a bearing fixing roller 3 is pressed to the opening edge part (f) of the recess (c) by being put in sliding contact with the tapered surface 2c, whereby the edge part is bent inward. Thereafter, the outside circumferential wall of the preform A is formed to a V groove shape by a revolving roller.
