PURPOSE:To minimize the power consumption at the side of a terminal device, by carrying out an on-off control of a switching element with an analog switch to vary the impedance of the terminal device. CONSTITUTION:An on-off control is given to a transistor TR1 with the data signal itself flowing through a switch SW by means of a C-MOS analog switch 30. Thus a reduction is attained for the power consumption at a terminal device. In such a case, the analog switch is controlled by a clock pulse. The switch 30 is turned on or off when the clock pulse is at a high level or a low level respectively. As a result, the contact current flowing through the switch SW never flows when the clock pulse is at a low level to reduce the power consumption furthermore. In addition, no current flows regardless of the switch SW turned on as long as no clock pulse exists. In such connection, this system is effectively applied particularly to a terminal device incorporating with a battery.
