Abstract

PURPOSE: To work a tip shape to a uniform needle shape with wire materials of any diameters by applying voltages between the end part of a needle blank material immersed in electrolyte and the electrode in the electrolyte in the mutually static state and the relatively vertically moving state, respectively.
CONSTITUTION: The end part of a needle blank material 4 is immersed for prescribed length into the electrolyte 2, and prescribed voltage is applied between the same and the electrode in the electrolyte 2, whereby the end part of the material 4 is electrolytically polished primarily to a V shape as shown in figure (a). In this case, the current is lowered close to zero as the electrolytic polishing approaches to said V shape. Next, the material 4 having undergone the primary polishing is again immersed in the electrolyte 2 and is subjected to secondary polishing. In this case, the voltage is applied in the same manner as mentioned above while the material 4 and the liquid 2 level are being vertically moved 0.5W5.0mm relative to each other. The end part of the material 4 is polished to a sharp shape as shown in figure (c) and this completes the secondary polishing. In this secondary polishing, the voltage is applied until the current goes zero. This worked product is used for acupuncutre or the like, and for example, stainless steel or the like is used as the needle blank material whilist a mixed soln. of, for example, sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid is used as the electrolyte.
