Abstract

PURPOSE: A cold drying-type epoxy resin paint capable of giving a coat with excellent flexibility, corrosion proofness and adhesion, obtd. by the addition of a curing agent consisting of a specified proportion of a polysulfide resin and an amino compd. to an epoxy resin.
CONSTITUTION: A composition comprising (A) 100pts.wt. epoxy resin having at least two epoxy groups in one molecule and (B) 20W400pts.wt. curing agent consisting of one equivalent, calculated on mercaptan, of a polysulfide resin and 3W30 equivalents, calculated on active hydrogen, of at least one amino compd. of active hydrogen equivalent 50W500, selected from an amineadduct resin, a polyamide resin and a polyamine. 1W400pts.wt. Asphaltic material may be added to said composition additionally. Undesirably, at an amt. of said amino compd. less than three active hydrogen equivalents, curing rate of the coat obtd. is reduced and its corrosion proofness is lowered, and at an amt. more than thirty equivalents, its flexibility is deteriorated.
