Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a corrosion-resistant coating compsn. capable of forming a tough film having excellent resistance to weather and corrosion when applied to iron and steel, by blending colored glass flankes with an epoxy resin.
CONSTITUTION: 10W150pts.wt. colored glass flakes having a thickness of 0.5W 10μ and a size of 100W400μ, are blended with 100pts.wt. epoxy resin such as Epikote 828 (a product of shell International Chemicals Corp.) or DEN431 (a product of Dow Chemical Co.) to obtain a corrosion-resistant coating compsn. Required amounts of a hardener, a curing accelerator, etc. are added to the compsn. at the time of use. Then the resulting compsn. is coated on iron and steel materials.
