Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify construction, reduce vibration and save energy of a rotary type internal combustion engine by reciprocating and rotating a rotor and a cylinder of the engine. CONSTITUTION:A generally triangular rotor 2 is incorporated in a cylinder 1 having the bore of same shape and diameter to reciprocate and rotate simultaneously about a shaft 3 fixed to the center portion of the rotor 2 for carrying out suction, compression, combustion and exhaustion through a clearance between the cylinder 1 and rotor 2. Also, a member 4 having the same shape as the rotor 2 is fixed to the rotor 2 at the opposite position to the shaft 3. The member 4 is provided on the center portion with a gear which meshes with another gear provided on an end of a power taking-out shaft.
