Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect and correct runaway of the microprocessor rapidly, by providing a runaway detecting circuit and a reset signal generating circuit. CONSTITUTION:Signal line 2 for the pulse signal indicating that microprocessor 1 outputs effective addresses is connected to runaway detecting circuit 4 through buffer amplifier 3. Runaway detecting circuit 4 consists of differentiating circuit 7, one- shot multivibrator 11 equipped with time constant circuit 10 of a time constant sufficiently larger than the period of clock pulses of microprocessor 1, and integrating circuit 14. The output of runaway detecting circuit 4 is applied to reset signal generating circuit 16 through buffer amplifier 15. Reset signal generating circuit 16 consists of differentiating circuit 19, one-shot multivibrator 20 equipped with time constant circuit 23, and inverter 24. The output of reset signal generating circuit 16 is inputted to the reset input side of microprocessor 1.
