Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a composition having a long pot life at room temperature and capable of rapidly curing at high temperatures, from an epoxy resin, dicyandiamide, a dimethylamine-epoxy resin addition compound, and a specific urea compound.
CONSTITUTION: An objective curable composition is obtained by mixing 100pts.wt. epoxy resin, 1W20pts.wt. dicyandiamide 0.1W20pts.wt. dimethylamine-epoxy resin addition compound or the neutralized product of the addition compound powder treated with an acid substance, and 0.1W30pts.wt. urea compound of the formula (where X and Y are each H, Cl, Br, CH3, NO2, or OCH3 and R1 and R2 are each an alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, or aralkyl group), e.g., 3-phenyl-1,1-dimethylurea.
