At least one of yttrium silicate activated with trivalent terbium, silicolanthanum activated with trivalent terbium, and yttrium are/is used as (a) green phosphor(s). An alkaline-earth-metal chlorophosphate activated with divalent europium is used as a blue phosphor. The grain diameters of the above red, the green and the blue phosphor which here are called Dr, Dg and Db, are adjusted to satisfy the relationship Dr<Dg<Db, and a mixture of the above materials is applied to the inner wall of a glass bulb. Through the means mentioned above, expensive phosphor can be saved, and a fluorescent lamp of a low cost can be manufactured.
