Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture the titled film having low contraction property under room temp. and excellent smoothness and fitness for automatic packing by a method wherein a thermocontracting PP group film is placed for contraction toward traverse direction while its longitudinal direction is fixed, then, is placed for contraction toward longitudinal direction while its traverse direction is fixed.
CONSTITUTION: Thermocontracting PP group film 1 obtained by biaxially elongating crystalline PP group resin in tubular form, is caused to pass through high-speed nip roll 2 and nip roll 4 both set at the same peripheral speed. Then said film is heated by the first furnace 3 at 40W80°C and is caused to freely contract in a traverse direction only, without allowing it to contract lengthwise. Next, compressed air is introduced into film 1 between roll 4 and nip roll 6 whose peripheral speed is lower than that of roll 4. The film is heated by the second furnace 5 at 40W80°C, and its contraction in a cross direction is held and its contraction lengthwise is freely allowed. After said process, the film is taken up through guide roll 7.
