Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent toner stains even under high humidity and to improve image transfer, by providing voltage application means and a transfer material sensor on a transfer guide plate, and applying bias voltage only when the transfer material passes. CONSTITUTION:Transfer material sensor 11 is provided on the middle part of transfer guide plate 4, and voltage application of voltage application means 13 is controlled by the signal of sensor 11 via control circuit 12. When a transfer material passes along plate 4, the bias volatage is applied, and when it is absent, the voltage application is cut off, thus permitting toner particles not to attach to plate 4 at all, even if the particles are present on the surface of a photoreceptor, toner stains to be remarkably alleviated, and superior transfer to be made under high humidity.
