Abstract

PURPOSE:To control the timing of ignition in accordance with normal knocking by withholding input from a lowpass filter through which a reference value is to be found while knocking is generated in a device wherein the reference value for controlling the knocking is found from the averaged value of noises. CONSTITUTION:A signal detected by an acceleration sensor 1 and a filter 2 is inputted in a differential amplifier 5, while it is also inputted in a noise level detector 4 such as the lowpass filter, and thereby it is made to be a reference value of the differential amplifier 5. When knocking is generated, an analog gate 3 is turned off by the output of the differential amplifier 5 and thereby any signal is not inputted in the circuit 4, and accordingly, the reference value is not changed even by large knocking signal. In addition, even when the gate 3 is turned off by the large knocking, the reference value turns small according to the time constant of the circuit 4. By this constitution, the timing of ignition can be controlled in accordance with normal knocking.
