Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce a volume of discharged nonpurified substance by a method wherein a central concave part in the cylinder head provided with an ignition plug and a pressure reducing area formed by a projected part of the cylinder head are communicated with each other by a communication passage opened in its tangential direction at a circumferential wall of the concave part.
CONSTITUTION: Cylinder head 10 is formed with a concave part 11 having an ignition plug 40 at a substantial central part of the interior in the cylinder head, the circumferential skirt in the concave part 11 forms a projection part 11a over a cylinder bore 20 which is formed as a larger spherical surface as compared with the spherical surface of the concave part 11. Thereby, when the piston 30 is positioned at the top dead center, a pressure reducing area C for reducing the mixture is formed, in turn, at one side of the cylinder head 10 is formed, a communication passage 12 for use in communicating the pressure reducing area C with the interior of the concave part 11 in the cylinder head 10, the opening 12b is opened substantially in a tangential direction of the circumferential wall of the concave part 11.
