Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the device applicable to a system of high DC transmission voltage by a method wherein a plurality of voltage type self-excited inverters are used in series connection, and a multiple tansformer is used to form the self-excited type converting device. CONSTITUTION:The AC systems 1 and 2 are connected each other through the converting devices 12, 3 and a DC transmission line 10. For the converting device 3, the three voltage type self-excited inverters 30, 40, 50 are connected each other in series, and AC outputs of those inverters are connected to corresponding windings 273, 274, 275 of the multiple transformer 27 and further, the windings on one side are respectively connected in series, and neutral point 271 is formed to be connected to the AC system 2. Accordingly, the output voltage is allowed to approach a sine- wave form and effectively adapted to the DC transmission system of the high transmission voltage by giving phase differences by 20 deg. to the inverters 30, 40, 50 and making those the self-excited inverters in 18 phases as a whole.
