Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect a ground fault point easily and accurately by flowing fractional harmonic current of n/m of a power source frequency to the ground fault point and detecting this fractional harmonic current with a detector having a search coil. CONSTITUTION:An amplifier circuit 8 which amplifies the signal outputted through a filter 7 allowing the passage of only the divided signal of 1/3 frequency of a power source frequency f0 from the receiving signal induced in a search coil 6 is built in a detector 5, and a meter 9 is driven by the output of the circuit 8. The divided frequency current of 1/3 frequency of the frequency f0 flows in the ground fault resistance R at a ground fault point P and therefore if the coil 6 of the device 5 is moved along low-voltage side distribution lines D1 and D2, the indication of the meter 9 increases sharply as it approaches to the fault point P, and decreases sharply as it leaves from the fault point P. Hence, the ground fault point on the lines D1, D2 is easily discovered from the increase or decrease in the indication of the meter 9.
