Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a reflector of electricity, heat and electromagnetic wave, which is light and tough, and also excellent in corrosion resistance and weather resistance, by using reinforced plastic consisting of a reinforcement of a copper fiber, etc. for the body of a concave reflector which is used for the microwave communication, etc. CONSTITUTION:The mirror body 1 is formed by placing a copper roving cloth on the wooden convex mold which has been coated with a mold releasing agent, coating it with an epoxy resin liquid with a roller, hardening it, repeating this procedure, and after that, detaching it from the mold. The inside surface of this mirror body 1 is rubbed with a steel brush, and the copper fiber is exposed. Subsequently, in the concave part of the mirror body 1 is inserted a convex electrode 4 whose extermal shape matches said concave part, the space between them is kept to about 1cm, it is filled with a metal plating liquid 5 consisting of copper sulphate; and a plating layer 3 is formed on the inside surface of the mirror body 1 by conducting a DC current. A dipole wave collector 7 provided on the center axis of the mirror body 1 is moved along the mirror axis so as to be always located at the focus of the parabolic surface in accordance with a signal of a strain gauge, depending on expansion and contraction of the mirror body 1. Also freezing can be prevented by using an electroconductive reinforcement.
