Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the bubble and liquid level sensing capacity of the detecting system therefor by applying rectangular waves to probe electrodes to extract simultaneously as detecting signals a signal representative of variation in resistance between the electrodes and signal representative of variation in an electrostatic capacity.
CONSTITUTION: A rectangular wave power source 9 is connected between electrodes 1, 3 of the bubble detecting probe 4, and an amplifier 10 is connected between the probe 4 and power source 9. In this arrangement, an equivalent circuit between the electrodes 1, 3 of the probe 4 consists of a parallel circuit of a volumic resistance R based on a specific resistance of the liquid around the electrodes 1, 3, and an electrostatic capacity C determined by a permittivity of an insulator 2 for insulating the electrodes 1, 3 against each other and a permittivity of the liquid around the electrodes 1, 3. When bubbles occur after rectangular waves have been applied between the electrodes 1, 3, the resistance R and electrostatic capacity C are varied, so that the wave-form inputted into the amplifier 10 is varied. Therefore, the generation of bubbles can be detected at a high accuracy.
