PURPOSE:To prolong the time available for transmitting data during a power failure while reducing the capacity of a battery by connecting a center equipment and terminal equipment via the 1st to 3rd data lines and a couple of common lines and by stopping the supply of a communication current during the power failure. CONSTITUTION:Center equipment C and terminal equipment A are connected together via data transmission line L1 from side A to equipment side C, data transmission line L2 from equipment side C to equipment A, and common line E to transmission lines L1 and L2. Between transmission line L1 and communication line E, relay R1 for data reception and diode D1 for data detection are connected and between transmission line L2 and common line E, power sources V1 and V2 for data transmission are connected. Further, data transmitting relay contact t1 and power- source supply stopping relay contact p1 excluding a communication current in a power failure are connected in series to transmission line L2. Then, power failure detecting circuit 6 of equipment C detects a power failure and, after sending a power-failure detection signal to equipment A, stops the supply of the communication current via contact p1, reducing the capacities of power sources V1 and V2.
