Abstract

PURPOSE:To miniaturize a substation equipment by reducing the capacity of a storage battery used in a power failure, by adding to a power-failure information output and a power-source switching circuit to an equipment which performs data transmission. CONSTITUTION:The equipment which performs data transmission by using a frequency shift modulation system is provided with transmission part 1, reception part 2 and DC power source circuit 3, and further provided with power-failure information output and power-source switching circuit 5 connected to storage battery 4. This circuit 5 is provided with contact a2 connected to transmission data input terminal 6 and contact a1 for the supply of the DC voltage from power source circuit 3 to transmission part 1, and in normal operation, transmitted data from terminal 6 is outputted to transmission output terminal 8. Once the output of circuit 3 is ceased owing to a power failure, contacts a1 and a2 of switching circuit 5 are changed over to contacts b1 and b2 to apply the voltage of storage battery 4 to transmission part 1 without reference to the input to terminal 6, so that while the power consumption of storage battery 4 is reduced, information on the power failure is transferred to a master station.
