Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a small-sized computer application device by preventing its malfunction, by discriminating the absence of stored information through comparing the contents of RAM locked when electric power is cut off and check information in ROM after the power source is put to work. CONSTITUTION:Processor 7 controls equipment 9 to be controlled via RAM6, IO8, etc., according to the program of ROM11. If the power is cut off owing to a power failure, etc., power source detecting circuit 4 detects that to interrupt processor 7. In RAM6 backed up by auxiliary battery 5, the current state stands by and is locked according to a program for the break of power supply from ROM11. The locked information is compared with data in check information storage ROM10 by being unlocked by circuit 4 when the power source is put to work; when the both coincide mutually, the decision that there is no absent stored information is made to restart the processing of processor 7 and when not an alarm is generated. Thus, the malfunction of the miniature computer application device is prevented to improve the reliability.
