Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the using efficiency of a computer system, by informing the detection of a fault from the fault identifying device to the monitor board and the host computer through the main control circuit and with cut-off of the corresponding power supply circuit and then deciding through the host computer the continuation of job operation or the retarding operation.
CONSTITUTION: For instance, the fault detector 3-2 among the fault detector group 3 detects a fault, and thus the faulty device identifying circuit 2-2 in the control unit 2 identifies the fault of the detector 3-2 to inform it to the main control circuit 2-1. Receiving an information of the fault from the circuit 2-2, the circuit 2-1 gives immediately an indication to the DC cut-off circuit 2-3 to cut off the relevant DC power supply unit 4-2 and then makes the relevant AC cut-off control circuit 2-4 cut off the relevant power supply switch respectively. Furthermore, the circuit 2-1 drives the remote information circuit 2-5 to report occurrence of the fault to the monitor board 6, and then informs the occurrence of the fault and the device cut off the power supply to the host computer 1. Receiving this information, the computer 1 decides the continuation of the job operation or the possibility for the retarding operation. Thus the using efficiency can be increased.
