Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the captioned analyzer having higher detection sensibility, specificity, reproducibility, responsibility and proper universality by injection of sulfone phthalene pH indicator between a separation column and a detecting means. CONSTITUTION:Some eluant is supplied from a vessel 1 to a separation column 5 through a metering pump P. The sample to be tested is injected from an injector 4. The solution (including the sample by solution action) flowing out of the column 5, is joinned together with thin water solution of sulhone phthalene pH indicator which is sent in meterring through a resistor 10 from a vessel 9 by a pump P and is measured by a visible spectrophotometer 6 to find its absorbance, and its chromatogram is recorded on a recroder 7. The pH indicator is slightly soluble in water, has its transition interval for the range of approximate pH3.0-10.0, and further shows the minimum light transmissivity for the monochrome of wave length ranging approximately 420-450nm under the lower pH range than 3.0 and still further the indicator shows the minimum light transmissisivity for the monochrome of wave length ranging higher than approximate 558nm under the higher pH range than 10.0
