Abstract
PURPOSE:To suppress a magnetic field entering a fluorescent screen in parallel by demagnetizing the inside of an image tube and a substance of high magnetic permeability at the same time, by arranging the substance of high magnetic permeability covering the image tube at the circumference of the image tube and further by arranging a magnetic erasing coil. CONSTITUTION:Image tube 11 is shielded from an external magnetic field and then covered with ferromagnetic substance band 12 for strong demagnetization. Further, magnetic erasing coil 13 is arranged which demagnetized image tube 11 and ferromagnetic-substance band 12 at the same time. Image tube 11 is demagnetized stronger when ferromagnetic-substance band 12 is equipped (b) than when no band is equipped (a). Because the inductance of magnetic erasing coil 13 increases as a result of the arrangement of band 12 or the like near magnetic erasing coil 13 to increase the total magnetic flux generated by magnetic erasing coil 13. Magnetic erasing coil 13 demagnetizes band 12 as well.
