Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the zoom lens small-size, by providing one nonspherical face, at least, in each group of first and the second groups of variable magnification zoom lens consisting of four groups. CONSTITUTION:The first group having a positive focal length, the second group having a negative focal length, the third group having a positive or negative focal length, and the fourth group having a positive focal length are arranged successively from the object side, and the second group and the third group are moved to perform variable magnification of the zoom. One nonspherical face, at least, is provided in each of the first and second groups. When the sum of tertiary nonspherical coefficients of the first group, the sum of tertiary nonspherical coefficients of the second group, focal lengths of the first group, the second group and the third group, the interval between the second group and the third group in the wide end, and the focal length of the whole of the system in the wide end are denoted as psi1, psi2, f1, f2, f3, l and fw, respectively, relations of expression I are satisfied.
