Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the maximum pressure in a cylinder highly accurately without the effect of pressure drift or the like by converting the detected DC signal corresponding to the pressure to AC voltage and determining peak-to-peak value. CONSTITUTION:The pressure in the cylinder of an engine 1 is detected with a pressure detector 2, and the detector 2 generates the DC signal corresponding to the pressure. This signal is converted to AC voltage by an AV converter 5, and the positive value and negative value thereof are held respectively in positive-, negative voltage holders 6, 7 which are controlled by monostable multis 12, 13. These are processed by a differential amplifier 8, and the peak-to-peak value is held in a sample holder 9 which is controlled by the mluti 12, by which the maximum pressure value is determined. By this simple constitution, the highly accurate maximum pressure which does not receive the influence of gentle pressure changes owing to pressure drift and atmospheric pressure change is measured.
