Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the rust generated by corrosion product in the condensate by a method wherein a plastic lining is applied over the hot well of the condenser.
CONSTITUTION: The plastic lining such as polypropylene sheet or the like is applied in the inner surface of the hot well 4 formed at the lower main body 3 of the condenser 1. During operation, the condensate falls on the ceiling board 5 of the hot well 4 and flows into the hot well 4 through an opening 6. However the hot well 4 is kept from rust by the plastic lining 10 and also easily cleaned. Further, the infiltration of condensate at the ends 11 of the lining 10 is prevented by abutting a L-shape steel 12 through a bonding agent 13 against the lining and screwing them down water tight together with the ceiling board 5 or the lower main body 3 by bolts 15 and nuts 14.
