Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure a D/A conversion with a high accuracy, by securing a resistance dividing system for at least a high-order bit converter of a D/A converter which performs an analog conversion between the high-order and low-order bits. CONSTITUTION:The high-order M bits and low-order N-M bits of a digital signal of N bits are supplied to the 1st D/A converter 1 and the 2nd D/A converter 2, respectively. The converter 1 consists of a decoder 11, a voltage dividing circuit 12 and a switching circuit 13. The circuit 12 connects in series the equal resistances of 2M units and then connects the divided voltage output terminal to the circuit 13 from both ends of each resistance. The circuit 13 applies two potentials V1 and V2 corresponding to the M-bit input of the decoder 11 to the operational amplifiers 31 and 32 that function as a buffer circuit each. The converter 2 for the low-order N-M bits has the same structure as the converter 1. In such constitution, the D/A conversion output receives no effect if the resistance value of the circuit 12 has some shift. As a result, a high-accuracy D/A conversion is ensured.
