Abstract
PURPOSE:To clean the friction surface with a chemical treatment and obtain an increased and stable transmission torque of a clutch or braking torque of a brake, by forming a chemical film of the phosphate series on the transmitting friction surface of the electromagnetic clutch or the braking friction surface of the electromagnetic brake of friction type. CONSTITUTION:On the transmitting friction surface of an electromagnetic friction clutch, that is, on a friction surface 12 of a rotor 3 and armature 6 or on the braking friction surface of an electromagnetic brake, a chemical film of the phosphate series is formed. In this way, the friction surface, being coated by the chemical film of the phosphate series, can be cleaned by the chemical treatment even if the texture of said surface before the forming of said film has been not suitable for the action of transmission or braking, to obtain a roughness and flatness of the surface. And if the chemical film is press contacted, both friction surfaces increase the closeness of their contact through the film to obtain an increase of friction coefficient.
