Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent roughening of the surface of a roll and to prolong the life of the roll, by adding fine power having good heat conductivity into the lubricant consisting of more than one kind of mineral, vegetable, and animal type lubricating oil and by applying it onto the outer circumferential surface of the rotating twin rolls. CONSTITUTION:Fine powder having good heat conductivity is added and mixed with the lubricant consisting of more than one kind of mineral, vegetable and animal type of lubricating oils to obtain lubricant. These lubricant is applied onto the outer circumferential surface of rotating rolls 2, 3 by the first sprays 17, 17'. By this the rolls 2, 3 are deprived of their heat from the surface and the heated lubricant is removed by wipers 19, 19'. Then after applying the lubricant onto the outer circumferential surface of rotating rolls with the second sprays 18, 18', the thickness of oil film of the lubricant is leveled into uniform thickness.
