Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent seizure in plastic working and further suppress the spark generation at the electroheating by applying the lubricating film impregnated with fats and oils for spark prevention on the surface of a stainless steel wire base material.
CONSTITUTION: The chemical conversion film composed of, e.g., oxalate or zinc phosphate is used as an anti-seizure lubricating film. Vegetable oils such as rapeseed oil and cone oil and mineral oils such as machine oil and spindle oil are used as the fats and oils for spark prevention. Feed rollers 2 are driven to intermittently feed a wire material 6. In the process where the wire material 6 is fed, current is supplied from a power source 4 to the wire material 6 which has reached between both electrodes, i.e., between a power feed roller 3 and feed rollers 2, i.e., heating section, whereby heating is accomplished. The wire material 6 heated is worked by a header 1. In the case of heating, the fats and oils for spark prevention are held impregnated in the wire material 6 and therefore the generation of spark is suppressed and since the film for preventing seizure is held applied, the seizure with the header machine 1 is prevented.
