Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent welding defects and to improve the adhesion of the electrodes to the strips thus improving the efficiency of the welding by applying fats and oils to the contacting part of the electrodes before welding.
CONSTITUTION: Before stacking both the ends of a foregoing strip 1 and a following strip 2, the oils such as spindle oil, stainless steel rolling oil, hydraulic oil are applied to the upper face of the foregoing strip 1 and the lower face of the following strip 2. The tail end of the foregoing strip 1 and the top end of the following strip 2 are then stacked, and the welding is carried out by electrodes 3, 3 while pressing them and feeding electric current. Regarding to the applicable oil, the kinds of the vegetable and the mineral oil are not restricted so far as the viscosity is ≥10cst.
