Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the attitude control high-precision, by providing a prescribed pair of control tracks and a pair of controlling magnetic heads on the magnetic tape and by operating the attitude control guide so that the difference between reproduced outputs of both magnetic heads is constant. CONSTITUTION:A pair of control tracks 4 and 5 where the control signal is recorded with the inclination of a fixed angle in directions opposite to each other for the data track are provided on the magnetic tape, and a pair of controlling magnetic heads 6 and 7 which have gaps inclined at a fixed angle in directions opposite to each other for the data track are provided for the purpose of tracing these control tracks. If magnetic tape 1 is shifted downward, a part of the gap of head 7 enters the side of opposite track 4, and the reproduced output level of this head is lowered. Meanwhile, though head 6 traces the position higher than the position for the normal skew, the gap remains in the track, and therefore, the reproduced output level is hardly changed. Then, the attitude controlling guide is operated through comparing circuit 11. By this constitution, the attitude control is performed with high-precision.
