Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the blockade and corrosion of a gas passage owing to an SO3 component by a method wherein a sulfuric-acid converter converting the SO3 component into sulfur dioxide is arranged just behind the branch point of a comparison gas passage and also just behind the gas outlet of an NH3/NO converter. CONSTITUTION:Combustion exhaust gas collected by a gas collector 10 is branched into a measurement gas passage 20 and the comparison gas passage 30, and in the measurement gas line, NH3 is converted into NO at a conveter 21. Meanwhile, an SO3 component in sample gas is converted into sulfur dioxide at the sulfuric-acid converters 50 and 60. The gas in two gas passages is introduced into the measurement tank 43 and comparison tank 44 of an infrared NO gas analyzer 40 through the intermediary of an NO2/NO converter 22, pumps 23 and 33, dehumidifiers 24 and 34 and filters 25 and 35. And, by measuring the difference in the intensity of both fluxes of light which are applied from a light source 41 to both tanks 43 and 44 and subjected to infrared absorbtion in accordance with the quantity of NO, the density of the NH3 gas in the sample gas is measured. By this constitution, the blockade and corrosion of the gas passages owing to the production of sulfuric-acid mist and sulfate can be avoided.
