Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure continuously NH3 concentration in an exhaust gas under coexistance of NOX, by introducing a sample gas into an NH3 converter charged with an N2 converting catalyzer for NH3 and obtaining the difference between NOX concentration in the outlet gas and the NOX concentration in the sample gas that does not pass through the converter. CONSTITUTION:As a measuring method for NH3 concentration in the exhaust gas in a dry type flue gas denitration technique where NH3 is injected into heavy-oil combustion exhaust gas, exhaust gas 1 containing NH3 and NOX is divided into one that is passed through catalyzer 3 as a sampling gas 2 and one that is fed as it is to a pipe 9, and NOX concentration in the exhaust gas 1 is measured through the pipe 9 by an NOX analyzer 10. On the other hand, the gas passed through the catalyzer layer 3 is reduced in NO by the amount consumed by reaction represented by formula. The catalyzer layer 3 is kept between 300 and 400 deg.C by means of a heater 4. Gas from the catalyzer layer 3 is passed to th analyzer 6, and discharged in the air as NOX analyzer exhaust gas 7. The difference between the analyzers, of the NOX analyzer 10 and the NOX analyzer 6 is determined to be NH3 concentration in the exhaust gas 1.
