CONSTITUTION: An antitumor agent prepared by using 1-(2,5-dihydro-2-furamyl)- 5-fluorouracil of the formula as an active constituent. The compound of the formula is a compound well known as a synthetic intermediate for 5-fluorouracil derivatives and has a greater tumor suppressing effect and longevous effect than those of other 5-fluorouracil derivatives, e.g. 1-(tetrahydro-2-furanyl)-5-fluorouracil. The acute toxicity LD50 is 380mg/kg in a mouse.
