Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a rubber molded product with excellent elasticity, a heat insulation property, sound proofness or the like inexpensively by introducing a waste rubber powder and an atactic polypropylene into a kneader to subject them to the friction kneading at a room temp.
CONSTITUTION: A composition consisting of a vulcanized rubber powder with a particle size of about 16 mesh or less obtained by grinding a waste tire or the like, an atactic polypropylene which is a byproduct obtained when an isotactic polypropylene is prepared and an anti-oxidant is introduced into a kneader and kneaded at a room temp. A temp. of said composition is raised by friction heat during kneading and the atactic polypropylene is molten to be mixed and kneaded with the vulcanized rubber powder. After the kneading is completed, the obtained mixture is formed into a plate like form by compression or roller molding. Because the resulting molded product is excellent in a vibration isolating property against a low frequency, it is useful as an elastic floor material, a water proofing material of an exterior and an interior walls or a sound proofing material and inexpensive because a waste material and a byproduct are utilized.
