Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a sheet having an uneven pattern with apparant profundity, by printing a pattern onto a paper sheet, applying onto the printed paper sheet an electron-curing resin whose polymerization curing will be delayed by the existence of oxygen, and radiating electron beams onto the treated paper sheet so tht the curing reaction of the resin on an unprinted part is delayed.
CONSTITUTION: A pattern 4 is printed onto a paper sheet 3 by a gravure printing, screen printing or the like method. Onto the whole surface of the printed paper sheet 3 is applied an electron-curing resin 51 whose polymerization curing will b delayed by the existence of oxygen. After the application, the electron-curing resin 51 permeates into the paper sheet 3 on a part not covered with the pattern 4 with time, while air ascends as fine bubbles 6 and oxygen disperses into the resin on that part. In this state, the resin on the part coated with the pattern 4 is rapidly cured to form convexities 11 by the radiation of electron beams, while the curing of the resin on the part not coated with the pattern 4 is delayed and concavities 12 are formed there. As a result, the decorative article 1 having a deeply uneven surface is produced.
