CONSTITUTION:A molded temporally firing ceramic body 11 is provided. Providing a solution 10 capable of controlling a resistivity of the molded temporally firing ceramic body 11, it is attached to the molded temporally firing ceramic body 11. The molded temporally firing ceramic body attached with the solution for controlling its resistivity is followed by its prime firing. Through the above process, a secondary electron multiplier device can be obtained. It is formed by a ceramic semiconductor having secondary electron emission power by which different resistivity distributions are caused and also structured so as to have higher resistivity at an output terminal side than that at an input terminal side.
