Abstract

PURPOSE: To recover and to purify β-amylase and α-1,6-glucosidase efficiently, by adsorbing β-amylase and α-1,6-glucosidase prepared by cultivating a bacterium belonging to the genus Bacillus on a mixture of heat-treated starch and diatomaceous earth.
CONSTITUTION: Bacillus cereus var. mycoides (FERM-P 2391) is inoculated into a nutrient medium and cultivated to produce and to accumulate β-amylase and α- 1,6-glucosidase in a culture solution, and the culture solution is made to pass through a mixture of starch and diatomaceous earth prepared by heat-treating a water suspension containing starch and 10W50wt% based on starch of diatomaceous earth at 50W65°C.
