Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a catalyst of high-temp. high-activity, and low SO2 conversion rate and low adverse influence of alkali metals upon these by consisting the same of titanium oxide, vanadium oxide, and tungsten oxide, and changing the structure around V in order to intensify the bonding strength of O and V contributing to catalytic reaction.
CONSTITUTION: The catalyst which consists of titanium oxide, vanadium oxide, and tungsten oxide, of which the g factor (g1-g11) of vanadyl ions is ≥0.055 and which catalytically reduces and removes the nitrogen oxides in waste gases of various boilers in the presence of NH3. This catalyst is obtained by undergoing the process of carrying V compound and W compound on specific titanium oxide which is wide in peak half width (β101) of 3.52Å crystalface space in X-ray diffraction and is low ≥0.5 deg. rate of crystallization.
