Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent vibrations at stopping by a method wherein a clock suited to a load condition of the step motor is selected out of clocks having a plural kinds of frequencies by an output signal of a recording medium thickness detecting medium. CONSTITUTION:When a gap regulating knob is turned round to set a gap between a printing head 305 and the recording medium 105 after the recording medium 105 being fitted to a tractor 104, a signal corresponding to the recording medium thickness is output from a detecting device 301. A basic clock generated in a motor clock circuit 101 feeds the plural kinds of the frequency clocks through the most suitable clock generating circuit. A clock frequency selecting circuit 303 selects the clock used for the output of the detecting device 301 through a waveform shaping-circuit 302 and capable of most suitably driving the fitted recording medium out of the clocks having plural kinds of the frequencies and outputs the same to a driving signal generating circuit.
