Abstract

PURPOSE: To utilize a forward and a backward turning forces for the opening and closing motion of a valve or the like, by providing two pistons in a cylinder and switching the supply of a pressurized fluid to two ports to apply the forward and the backward turning forces to a stem.
CONSTITUTION: Chambers A, B, C are defined by pistons 2, 3 fitted in a cylinder 1. When a pressurized fluid is supplied from a port P1 to the central chamber A, a stem 4 is swung clockwise. When the pressurized fluid is supplied from a port P2 to the chamber B, C, the stem 4 is swung counterclockwise. The angle of the swing of the stem 4 is 90°. The stem 4 is connected to a valve open/close shaft so that a valve can be opened and closed.
